Fall 2026 Bellydance Workshops

Join me in Fredericksburg, Virginia for specialty workshops in September and October 2026.
Location: Bodyworks in downtown Fredericksburg, VA
Time: 12-2 pm and 2:30-4:30 pm
Cost: $40 for one workshop, $70 for two workshops (on the same day)

Saturday, September 26
Musicality Basics 12-2 pm
Enhance your dance with a deeper connection to the music. Become familiar with instruments commonly heard in Middle Eastern music, as well as a variety of rhythms. Expand your improvisation skills by practicing movement sequences to different types of music, including folkloric styles. This workshop is appropriate for those with at least three months of bellydance experience.
Making an Entrance 2:30-4:30 pm
Captivate them from the first step! Learn travel steps and framework to adapt to various entrance songs, as well as combos to use with a specific song. Focus on connecting to the music and engaging your audience. This workshop is appropriate for Advanced Beginner (6+ months) and above.
Saturday, October 24
Classics Deep Dive 12-2 pm
Enrich your dance by exploring the classics. Learn about Middle Eastern composers, singers, and songs that are featured prominently in dance music. Explore the structure and lyrics of two classic songs and develop combinations for dancing to them. This workshop is appropriate for those with at least three months of bellydance experience.
Raqs El Shamadan 2:30-4:30 pm
Why does that dancer have a candelabra on their head? Explore the many applications of this prop that is used in Egyptian dance. Learn to lead a zeffa (wedding procession) and practice basic steps to use for a solo or group performance. (You are not required to bring a shamadan; several will be available to use during the class.) This workshop is appropriate for Advanced Beginner (6+ months) and above.
